Job description

Overview

The incumbent will assist the pharmacy technician and other pharmacy staff to prepack drugs move stocks and assist in dispensing drugs to patients. The incumbent should have basic knowledge about drug stock control repacking and basic mathematical calculations for calculating doses and counting stocks

Responsibilities

Dispensary Duties:

  • Pre-packing medicines and drugs.
  • Filling patient-drug information in registers and data entry.
  • Assist in the Conduct of stock count.
  • Daily Monitoring and recording of Fridge temperature.
  • Help Maintain orderly clean environment in the pharmacy, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Technician in Dispensing.
  • Keep all equipment is a good condition and well maintained.

Storage

  • Offloading stock from Central Medical Stores.
    • Receiving and storing incoming drug supplies.
    • Retrieving requested medicines and drugs from warehouse and storeroom.
    • Update stock cards for every transaction e.g. receiving, issuing, stock count.
    • Daily Monitoring and recording of room temperature.
    • Help Maintain orderly clean environment in the pharmacy, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies in the storeroom and warehouse.

General Duties Are

  • Prepare weekly report on stock availability in the storeroom and submit to supervisor.
  • Participate in team de-briefing sessions.
  • Any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor.

Qualifications

IGCSE Certificate of Education. Certificate in Dispensing is an added advantage. Previous experience in a Pharmacy environment is highly desirable.
